A study exploring the support needs of young adult carers of parents with Huntington’s disease

About the study
The study aims to explore the experiences and support needs of young adult carers of parents with Huntington’s Disease. This study will allow us to explore whether there are any unmet needs or support gaps that need addressing. Through an online interview, the researcher will ask you questions about your experience of support.
Who can take part?
- Currently aged 18 to 25
- You currently provide or have previously provided care for a biological parent with Huntington’s disease
- Reside in England and can access NHS service
- Able to provide informed consent
- Able to communicate in fluent English
- Has access to a smartphone or computer to be able to join a Microsoft Teams meeting
Exclusion criteria:
- Those diagnosed with Juvenile Huntington’s disease
- Those unable to participate/consent to an interview due to cognitive, communication or language barriers
How will you take part?
Interested participants should contact the researcher who will provide a patient information sheet and informed consent form. The researcher will then contact the participant to answer any questions and arrange a suitable time for a Microsoft Teams meeting. The interview will be conducted on Microsoft Teams and will take between 45-60 minutes.
