We hosted an in-person information and peer support event for young adults affected by Huntington's disease.

We hosted our second event for young adults earlier in the year which took place in London. The focus of this event was:

  • Support for young adults
  • How we can make the transition from the youth engagement service to young adults comfortable
  • Getting involved in research

It was helpful to hear information around support, research and meet others.

We also had inspiring talks from members of the community

Sharon Gorrie, London Branch

Being involved with branches and what they do

Dan Johnstone, Huntington's Ambassador

Dan’s Journey - what an ambassador does and what it means to him

Rebecca Hardwick, HD Youth Voice

HD Youth Voice and her experience

When attendees were asked about the positives from the event were, one said:

Feeling engaged with the Huntington's community when I’ve been scared to before – a sense of connection. Informative presentation from Lauren [Huntington's research] that gives me hope for a better future for Huntington's disease.

Next event

Please join us in September for a weekend event with an overnight stay. This is a great opportunity to meet others who have Huntington’s in their family and participate in group activities, hear from our speakers, and benefit from peer support and social events.
