This peer support call is for adults aged 40 and over affected by Huntington's disease.
We're pleased to invite you to our virtual over 40s peer support event with guest speaker Sian Thompson, Human Resources Manager.
Sian will discuss the support you can expect from your employer, and how to talk about Huntington’s in the workplace.
Sian will cover the following:
- Finance management, including reducing work
- Early retirement and early pension access
- What to do when reasonable adjustments are in place, but you are reaching a limit as to how far they can go
- Employment rights, including union representative rights
- Access to Work grants
This is a relaxed and informal group giving anyone aged over 40 the chance to chat with like-minded people and share experiences.
You're welcome to attend no matter what part of the Huntington's journey you're on.
Our Specialist Huntington’s Disease Advisers facilitate the group, and this meeting will alternate between peer support and requested speakers.

Meet your speakers
Sian Thompson - Human Resources Manager
Sian is the Human Resources Manager at the Huntington's Disease Association. She joins the call to share her expertise in this area, and share ways to discuss Huntington's with employers.
Kirsty Antell - Specialist Huntington's Disease Adviser
Kirsty is the Specialist Huntington's Disease Adviser for the South East of England, covering Berkshire, Northamptonshire, and Oxfordshire. She is one of the call's two facilitators.
Carol Davies - Specialist Huntington's Disease Adviser
Carol is the Specialist Huntington's Disease Adviser for mid / South Wales. She is one of the call's two facilitators.
