Helpline:
Erin has recently published a book of stories from the Huntington's community called 'Huntington’s Disease Heroes' – Inspiring Stories of Resilience from the Huntington's Community.
A Canadian author and public speaker, Erin Paterson tested gene positive for Huntington’s disease. Shortly after she started suffering from depression, then received more crushing news, she was infertile. Despite those diagnoses she was determined to have a family and live a joyful life.
She is on a mission to positively impact other people’s lives by writing and speaking about genetic disease, depression, and infertility. She shows that it is possible to live a meaningful life even when faced with unexpected obstacles. She is the author of All Good Things: A Memoir About Genetic Testing, Infertility and One Woman’s Relentless Search for Happiness.
Erin is also the founder of Lemonade Press, a publisher focused on empowering people from underrepresented medical communities by helping them write and share their own journeys in specialised anthologies.
This is part of a series of lived experiences. You will hear from families across the Huntington’s disease community brought to you by the Huntington’s Disease Alliance UK and Ireland. The alliance is made up of the Huntington's Disease Association (England and Wales) Scottish Huntington's Association, Huntington's Disease Association Northern Ireland and Huntington's Disease Association of Ireland.
