Join us at our next in-person event for young adults!


The day will be centred around connection, providing opportunities for those aged 18-40 to meet others who truly understand what it's like to have Huntington's disease in the family.

Location: The Studio, 7 Cannon Street, Birmingham B2 5EP

This event is free to attend, and lunch will be provided.

 

What the day will cover:

The programme includes:

  • Research update - Hear about the latest developments in Huntington’s disease research.
  • Genetics: Chris Platt, Specialist Advisor at the Huntington’s Disease Association, will lead a discussion about genetic testing.
  • Social media: Clare Roberts, Social Media Officer at the Huntington’s Disease Association, will lead a session on using social media to reach out and connect with others.
  • Ambassador stories: Huntington's Disease Association Ambassadors will share their experiences of living in families impacted by the disease.

After the event, attendees are encouraged to make the most of the central Birmingham location and continue socialising nearby.

Anne Filson - Advisory Service Team Leader

Anne is one of our Advisory Service Team Leaders at the Huntington's Disease Association. She will be available to share her knowledge on supporting those living with the disease.

Nadia is a Project Officer with the Huntington’s Disease Youth Engagement Service (HDYES), supporting the delivery of youth programmes and events for families affected by Huntington’s disease.

Chris Platt - Specialist Huntington's Disease Adviser

Chris is one of the Specialist Huntington's Disease Advisers at the Huntington's Disease Association. He will be available to share information on genetics, drawing on his previous experience working as a genetic counsellor.
