Join us in May for our Huntington's disease awareness month walking challenge - #HDHike

May is National Walking Month and we are planning to lace up our trainers and fundraise for the 8000 people currently living with Huntington's disease. Every step you take in May will help to make a difference to the lives of the people we support.

Using 8000 as a theme is just one of our ideas, however far or high you choose to walk, you will be helping to support those affected by the disease.

  • Why not challenge yourself, your friends and family to walk a minimum of 8000 steps per day in May?

  • Plan your own 8km sponsored walk.

  • Choose eight walks across the month.
  • You could hike up the peak that you have always wanted to do.

  • Set yourself a target amount of miles to complete throughout May.

#HD8000

#HDHike is part of our #HD8000 series - a fundraising initiative aimed at raising funds for our work, ensuring we can continue to make a difference to people affected by Huntington’s disease. Around 8000 people in the UK have Huntington's disease with a further 32000 estimated at high risk of inheriting it.

Need inspiration?

One of our fundraisers Camilla took part in a previous #HDHike with her dog Casper. She set herself the target to walk 100 miles throughout May. This year she had set herself the even bigger challenge of 150 miles in May and is bringing along Casper and their new sidekick, Paddington. You can read her full story below.
