Congratulations to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight branch chair, Maureen.

The founder of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight branch, Maureen has won the Carer of the Year Award at the BBC Make a Difference Awards in the Solent region.

Maureen cared for her husband, son and daughter who all had Huntington's disease until they passed away and she now cares for her grandson, who also has the disease. Maureen was the founder of one of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight branch where she is still an active committee member. She is a well-deserved winner of this award and was recognised for her caring efforts through generations of her family.

From everyone at the Huntington's Disease Association, we would like to congratulate Maureen on her caring award. Maureen has been a huge part of the Huntington's disease community for many years as she has cared for multiple generations so this award is very well-deserved.
