This #LonelinessAwarenessWeek we're highlighting the ways that we can provide you with support if you're feeling alone.

Our Specialist Huntington's Disease Advisers

Our specialist advisers are experienced and compassionate care management professionals. They support anyone who needs their help at any stage of the Huntington's journey. They can help people living with the disease, people at risk of inheriting the disease, people at risk of inheriting the disease, family members and carers, and children or young people. They can even advise friends, neighbours, employers and your medical team.

Branch and support groups

Huntington's Disease Association branches and support groups are run by volunteers. Groups meet up and down the country for a mixture of social activities, information sessions, fundraising and awareness raising - and always a good chat. The groups are informal and are run to meet the needs of the people who attend.

Helpline

Our helpline adviser can talk to you about a range of different elements. If someone is feeling lonely they can provide a confidential listening ear to talk about how they are feeling and any thoughts or questions they have around Huntington's disease. The helpline can be an outlet when someone needs to talk in the moment, but also they can offer links into different types of peer support when you want to connect with others who have an understanding of Huntington's disease.

Call our helpline on 0151 331 5444.

Message Board

Our mesasge board is for people whose lives are affected by Huntington's disease and wish to share their experiences with others. The message board is run, moderated and read by staff from the Huntington's Disease Association, but is powered by you, the people that use it.
