A free event for young people aged 12–25 affected by Huntington’s disease, run by the Huntington’s Disease Association Youth Engagement Service (HDYES) in York.

HDYES provides specialist, youth-focused support for children and young people from families affected by Huntington’s disease, working alongside healthcare professionals, families, and schools across the UK.

All HDYES events are delivered by trained staff and follow the Huntington’s Disease Association’s safeguarding and wellbeing policies. Activities are designed to be inclusive, age-appropriate, and supportive of young people.

James O'Connor - Team Leader – Huntington’s Disease Youth Engagement Service (HDYES) and Specialist Youth Worker (North)

James leads our team of Youth Workers at the Huntington’s Disease Youth Engagement Service (HDYES). He has extensive experience supporting children and young people affected by Huntington’s disease, delivering safe, inclusive activities and providing emotional and practical support to families.

Nadia Laffey - Youth Engagement Project Officer

Nadia is a Project Officer with the Huntington’s Disease Youth Engagement Service (HDYES), supporting the delivery of youth programmes and events for families affected by Huntington’s disease.
