Better-informed professionals mean better care and support for people affected by Huntington's disease.

As part of our campaign to strengthen care, John, the Training Lead for the Huntington’s Disease Association, presented virtually at the Pulse 365 event to 259 GPs.

A staggering 85% of 150 people asked in a recent survey had to educate a doctor, nurse or healthcare professional about Huntington’s disease. This is just one of the many challenges the Huntington’s community faces. We are trying to change this.

Pulse 365 virtual events welcome general practitioners from across the UK for a one-day virtual conference dedicated to shining a spotlight on vital areas of clinical knowledge in primary care. Aneya Sanders, Senior Conference Producer said:

Pulse Virtual May was dedicated to shining a spotlight on Rare diseases. We work with partners in delivering dynamic content with a view to ensuring that our audiences find the sessions informative, thought-provoking, and directly relevant to their work as a GP.

This was another great opportunity to talk about Huntington’s disease to a room of healthcare professionals. Some of the comments from attendees were:

  • “Good to know more about Huntington’s disease in general.”
  • “Enthusiastic and knowledgeable speaker. Good, clear and interesting presentation. Responded well to questions.”
  • “Very interesting presentation delivered well.”

We continue offering training sessions to ensure healthcare professionals are equipped to support people affected by Huntington’s disease. If you are a GP and you missed this session, you can watch our GP webinar below or request a copy of our GP booklets for you and your practice.

How can the community help?
