FAQs

Further information can be found on the London Marathon website but here are a few important FAQs:

What are you looking for in a charity place application?

We'll be taking into account your connection to Huntington’s disease and the motivation behind wanting to run the TCS London Marathon for the Huntington’s Disease Association. We will also look at your fundraising goals and your plan to raise money. Key tip: Make sure to be as detailed and imaginative as possible! WE will give our applicants a call for an informal chat to discuss your application.

When do I have to raise the minimum sponsorship for a charity place by?

We would expect you to hit your minimum pledge target six weeks after marathon day. Our Fundraising Team will be there to support you every step of the way with fundraising advice and materials.  If you think you might struggle with the fundraising target, please contact us so we can support you with your fundraising or give you extra time if necessary.

Can I change anything on my charity place application?

If you'd like to make any updates to your charity place application, please email fundraising@hda.org.uk.

What happens if I don't raise the minimum sponsorship for a charity place?

It is incredibly important that each charity place runner meets the minimum sponsorship amount as this helps us raise vital funds for services for people affected by Huntington’s. There is no legal obligation to make up the shortfall but if you don't meet your target it is likely to impact on your chances of gaining an event place with our charity in the future. Please contact us if you require fundraising advice. In some circumstances, it will be possible to have some extra time to meet the fundraising requirement.
