‘In Two Minds’ a BBC Radio Cornwall documentary on Huntington’s disease testing
A brand new BBC Radio Cornwall documentary 'In Two Minds' has just been released. The documentary follows Daniel as he embarks on a journey to decide whether to be tested for Huntington's disease or not.
About the documentary
‘In Two Minds’ follows Daniel’s journey in deciding whether to be tested for Huntington's Disease, after seeing both his father and aunty suffer from this disease during his childhood. He speaks to his friends, people who have tested positive with the faulty gene, others who have developed symptoms and their families, a genetic counsellor and a Huntington’s specialist consultant, all of whom influence his final decision about being tested.
Daniel said –
“The experience of making this documentary has been a little crazy, honestly. For all the downs, there have been twice as many ups. It’s been enlightening, inspiring and simply, a pleasure to meet all the wonderful people that have been brave enough to share their story, all so we can raise awareness and get the message out there that you are not alone.”
Where can you listen?
The documentary is being broadcast in six parts on the Breakfast show of BBC Radio Cornwall from Monday 26 - Saturday 31 August at 8:20 am each morning, and then on Saturday 31 August, the documentary will be available in full on the England Unwrapped section on BBC Sounds.
