Attitudes towards Huntington’s genetic testing – A research study
Deciding whether or not to go through genetic testing for Huntington's disease is a difficult and complex decision. There are many things to consider before going ahead with the test. That’s why Professor Simona Botti at the London Business School has created a research study in which her team aims to understand people’s attitudes toward testing for Huntington’s disease.
About the study
The purpose of this research study is to understand people’s attitudes toward testing for Huntington’s disease and the psychological consequences of testing on an individual’s emotions.
The findings of this study could potentially help complement consulting procedure for people who have or are at risk of developing Huntington’s disease. The research study is organised by Professor Simona Botti and PhD candidate Nazli Gurdamar Okutur at London Business School.
Can you partake?
The study consists of filling in a short online survey that takes approximately 10 minutes.
The researchers are looking for –
- People who have Huntington's disease
- People who have tested positive but are not yet showing symptoms
- People who haven't tested
- People who have someone they care about who is affected by Huntington’s disease
Professor Botti and her team are looking for participants in their study, so, if you are 18 years of age or older and are interested in participating, please click on the link below:
