Dearnevale Care Home becomes Huntington's Disease Association Quality Assured!

Dearnevale is the latest care home to be awarded the Huntington's Disease Association Quality Assured accreditation.
The accreditation is a quality assurance programme that identifies the behaviours, cultures and specialist services required for a care home to meet the needs of caring for people affected by Huntington’s disease.
Dearnevale, based in Grimethorpe, Barnsley has been awarded the Huntington's Disease Association tick of Quality Assured after going through a rigorous process to meet the standards needed to pass the accreditation.
The judging panel all felt that Dearnevale demonstrated excellent care for people with Huntington's disease and recognised the efforts of all involved.
Helen Santini - Team Leader, Advisory Service at the Huntington's Disease Association said:
"Quality Assured is a rigorous assessment process that looks at Huntington's disease-specific standards in addition to Dearnevale's excellent CQC reports. Dearnevale has met all nine quality standards which is testament to the care and support provided to residents and families. The accreditation will run for two years until 2024 and we hope that Dearnevale will reapply in the future in order to reassure potential customers that the service continues to the high standards that are currently provided. The Huntington’s Disease Association would like to congratulate Dearnevale on their success."
The Quality Assured Accreditation demonstrates the care home’s commitment to caring for people with Huntington’s disease and is a mark of reassurance to help the Huntington's community when choosing a care facility. Dearnevale Care Home can use the Quality Assured logo on its website and all promotional material for the next two years."
Helen McGowan, Home Manager of Dearnevale Health Care Ltd said,
“Everyone who works at Dearnevale is delighted that the home is Quality Assured by the Huntington’s Disease Association. We are all passionate about providing the best quality of care for our service users who are living with Huntington’s disease, and supporting their families.
“I see, first hand, the outstanding care that our team provides every day. We’re proud that this has been acknowledged by the national charity, and honoured to have received the Quality Assured tick. It’s testament to the dedication and hard work of the outstanding team we have here at Dearnevale.”
