COVID-19 and Roche’s tominersen trial
We have had several enquiries regarding Roche’s current tominersen (RG6042) trial and what happens to those who are on the trial and if the trial will continue in the current climate.
We spoke directly to Roche and discovered that if you’re already part of the trial, you will not be expelled from the trial. If you can’t physically get to your trial site, you should contact the site directly, let them know and the site will keep in touch with you going forward. It has been advised that you continue to use the Roche HD app.
Each trial site will be following the advice of the local NHS trust in terms of whether they can continue to provide the injection due to restrictions on current NHS resources in that particular trust. This will vary but the trial site will let you know if they are unable to carry out the procedure.
You should attend your next infusion as planned unless unable to or advised not to by the trial centre. They should continue to update the Roche HD app.
Trial sites will keep in contact with participants and no one will be asked to leave the trial, even if this current situation is prolonged.
If you are a participant of the tominersen trial and think you have symptoms of COVID – 19, you should let your treating physician know that you are on the trial and notify the trial site.
