Recycling for Huntington’s

You can help the environment and raise funds for the Huntington’s Disease Association by taking part in our new recycling scheme!

We have partnered with Recycling for Good Causes who recycle your unwanted items and turn them into valuable funds to help sustain our work supporting people affected by Huntington’s disease.

What can be recycled?

  • Jewellery – gold, silver, costume jewellery, watches, broken and damaged items (like odd earrings, snapped chains or items with missing stones)
  • Used postage stamps
  • You can donate unwanted banknotes of any age from any country
  • Old coins from any country and of any age
  • Electronic items such as phones, MP3 players, cameras and games consoles

Unfortunately, they CANNOT recycle laptops, ink cartridges or clothing.

All items will be individually assessed and recycled to get the highest price possible and all this is done at absolutely no cost to you!

How does it work?

It’s really easy to recycle and raise funds for the Huntington’s Disease Association - just follow the instructions below per item.

Jewellery and banknotes

If you would like to recycle old jewellery and banknotes, simply pop them into a padded envelope or jiffy bag – no bigger than A5 in size (148 x 210 mm/ 5.8 x 8.3 in) – and post them free of charge by printing out the Freepost label and attaching it to your envelope.

Then just pop it in the post! Our partners at Recycling for Good Causes will reuse and recycle your items, sending the proceeds to us here at the Huntington’s Disease Association.

Coins and larger items

If you have coins or larger items you would like to recycle, you can request a recycling bucket or polybag from Recycling for Good Causes.

Simply call 0800 633 5323 or email info@recyclingforgoodcauses.org to start your recycling collection. For recycling coins, they will send you a small collection bucket. For larger items that won’t fit into an A5 envelope, Recycling for Good Causes will send a polybag and collect your items free of charge once you have filled the bag.

Please do not send old coins or bulky items to the Freepost address as these will not be accepted due to weight restrictions.

Postage stamps

You can donate your used stamps, all stamps are welcome, stuck on or removed from envelopes/paper. Simply cut or carefully rip the postage stamp from the used envelope, pop them in an envelope and post them to our dedicated recylcying address,

Huntington’s Disease Association
PO Box 16992
Sutton Cauldfield
B73 9YA

Please note this is not a Freepost address.

Recycling for Good Causes will arrange collections for larger quantities of stamps weighing over 10Kgs. This equates to roughly two buckets of stamps.
