Sunday 3rd June 2018
Our weekend for families living with Juvenile Huntington’s disease is aimed at the whole family, including the young person with HD, parents/carers, as well as brothers and sisters.
The weekend intends to give young people with JHD and their families an opportunity to meet other people in a similar situation, while also enjoying a great weekend full of exciting activities. It’s also a chance for families to find out more about JHD from healthcare professionals with expertise in Huntington’s disease, and by sharing experiences with other parents.
The young people with JHD and their siblings can take part in all the activities available, as they are fully accessible whatever your level of ability.
Activities include: including horse riding (always very popular!), archery, canoeing, rock-climbing, sailing and swimming.
The parents often take part in separate sessions, giving them the chance to meet and share.
There’s also a themed fancy dress party on Saturday night to give everyone the chance to relax and enjoy themselves with new friends.
Take a look at what to expect during the weekend, and what you can gain if you come along.
