Calling all gamers...

This September we are joining the 'Gaming for Good' initiative with our brand new fundraiser - #HDAPlay. It's time to use the power of play to raise valuable funds to support people affected by Huntington's disease.

How to get involved

Whether you want to take on a 12 or 24 hour gaming marathon, compete with your friends, set yourself a gaming target, or set up a gaming live stream, taking part could make a big difference. If video gaming isn't for you, why not set up a classic games night and charge a donatable 'entry fee'.

Our aim was for #HDAPlay to be accessible for all ages and for both individuals and groups. Doesn't matter if you're a pro gamer or an amateur or you prefer consoles or cards, the challenge you set is up to you!

Oliver's gaming story

Oliver had never streamed before, when he decided to take on the challenge of a 24 hour stream in aid of the Huntington's Disease Association.

"I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what to play but decided on playing games that I enjoy as it helped me be more engaged in what I was doing. When the day came, I made sure I had a friend on standby to hang out with me and lend a hand if I lost my sanity!"

FAQ

Is there an entry fee?

There is no entry fee for this challenge. We do however ask you to fundraise as part of your challenge. You can set up your fundraiser via our JustGiving page and then share this with your friends and family via the link or on social media.

When does the challenge start?

#HDAPlay officially takes place throughout September but if you want to set something up before or after this date that is fine.

Do I have to stream to take part?

No, streaming is just one idea of how you can raise money. You can create your own challenge and raise sponsorship that way or set up a games night to collect donations.

How do I stream my challenge?

You can stream your gaming challenge using Twitch, YouTube or Facebook Gaming. You can find a handy guide about setting up your streaming here.

Do you have a Twitch account that I can follow?

At this moment we do not have a Huntington's Disease Association Twitch account.
