We’re delighted to announce that we have charity places available for the 2020 Great North Run. 

  • Event date: Sunday 13 September 2020
  • Minimum age: 17
  • Registration fee: £30
  • Minimum fundraising target: £500
  • Deadline for ballot entry: 17 April 2020

Event info

The Simplyhealth Great North Run is the biggest half marathon in the world with over 57,000 runners taking part in the 13.1-mile half marathon. From the beginning, the Great North Run has been a celebration of what makes the North East great! With thousands of supporters lining the course, hundreds of volunteers helping you along the way and runners like just you, who are the embodiment of dedication and determination for whatever their cause they are running for. So come and join #TeamHDA on this 13.1-mile journey from Newcastle’s city centre to the coast in South Shields!

 

When will race packs be sent to runners?


Runners will receive their official Simply Heath race packs approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the event. This will include their race number, timing chip and event information.

Fundraising for the Huntington’s Disease Association and being part of #TeamHDA is rewarding and makes a huge difference to those living with Huntington’s Disease – we need your support to keep delivering the life-changing service we offer.

 

What happens next?

The fundraising team will be in touch with you by the end of April to let you know whether you have been successful, or not, in applying for a place on the Great North Run and have successfully become a part of #TeamHDA.

If you are successful in your ballot entry, you will receive:

  • A welcome email & fundraising toolkit from our friendly fundraising team
  • A sports vest or t-shirt to wear on the day
  • Support from our dedicated fundraising team to help you reach your target

Already have your own place?

That’s great news – you can still join #TeamHDA and raise vital funds for our life-changing services. There’s no minimum sponsorship amount, as you have purchased your own place, we just ask that you raise what you can and to help those in the Huntington’s community! Email the team at fundraising@ha.org.uk to let the team know, and you will receive a fundraising pack.
