Creepy crawly, ghostly spooooky Halloween fundraising ideas for all the family
Halloween is creeping up on us and whilst it may be a different celebration of all things ghostly this year, there are still lots of ways you can get involved and raise funds for our work. Check out our spookily good ideas below!
Spooky House Competition
This is something your neighbours can get involved with; suggest a donation to take part and the best, most spookily decorated house on your street wins a Halloween-themed prize.
Pumpkin Carving Competition
Organise your own pumpkin carving competition asking for a suggested donation to take part. Take photos of your pumpkins to share on social media getting your friends to vote for the winner.
Trick or Treat Donations
When hair-raising trick-or-treaters knock on your door, ask them to make a donation towards our work to get treats! We can send out collection tins and boxes for you to collect your donations in. Contact us on [email protected] to organise this.
Ghostly Bake Sale
Cook up some Halloween themed delights to sell to your friends and family.
Apple Bobbing
You’ll need a large “cauldron” of water and some apples. Players pay £1 to enter for the chance to win prizes by catching apples with just their “fangs”.
Halloween Quiz
You can set up your own scary Halloween Quiz with friends and family and play over Zoom…
Fancy Dress Zoom competition
…or you can take it a step further and have your own Halloween Fancy Dress Competition over Zoom!
Spine-chilling Sponsored Walk
Organise your own spine-chilling sponsored walk around your local park or spooky place. We can send you sponsorship forms or you can set up Just Giving or Virgin Money pages to help you raise funds.
Thriller Night
Host a horror film night at home for a snip of the cost of visiting the cinema! Sell tickets and watch some classic horror films with the lights down low. Use Netflix Party to watch your horror films with friends and family from around the country at the same time!
Pumpkin Chuckin Fundraiser
Traditionally held in early November, this is a smashing way to get rid of your carved pumpkins! Gather your competitors together to see who can throw their carved pumpkin the furthest. Suggest a donation to enter and give out spooky prizes to the winner.
Please contact our ghoulish fundraising team on [email protected] if you want further creepy fundraising advice!
We’d also love to see your spooky fundraising on social media so make sure to tag any videos or pictures you upload with #TeamHDA.
If you are affected by Huntington’s disease and need support or advice, please contact us on 0151 331 544 or email [email protected].
