The Disabled Drivers Motor Club
(DDMC) and the Disabled Drivers Association merged to create Mobilise self
help organisation run for disabled people by disabled people, and concerns

The Motability
scheme enables disabled people to use their government-funded mobility
allowances to obtain a new car, powered wheelchair or scooter.
Disabled Persons Railcard

If you have a disability that makes traveling by train
difficult you may qualify for the Disabled Persons Railcard. The Railcard
allows you - and an adult companion with you - to get a 1/3 off most Standard
and First Class fares throughout Great Britain.
The London Taxicard Scheme

Taxicard is a method of providing subsidised
door-to-door transport for people who have serious mobility impairment and
difficulty in using public transport. Taxicard holders make journeys in
licensed London taxis and the subsidy applies directly to each trip.
Freedom Pass

If you are aged 60 or over or have an eligible
disability, and your sole or principal residence is a London borough, you
can apply for a freedom pass to help you travel around London.

The Blue Badge scheme provides a range of parking concessions
for people with severe mobility problems who have difficulty using public
transport. The scheme operates throughout the UK.

Shopmobility lend manual and
electric wheelchairs or scooters to members of the public. Each local scheme
runs differently ( some of the schemes have volunteers to accompany people
