Research for a new Huntington's disease documentary

March 2010

Hello,

As research for a new documentary I am looking to get in contact with anyone who is affected by Huntington's disease. Whether you are someone who cares for a sufferer or someone with the disease itself I'm interested in hearing your story.

When made, the documentary will look to examine just how the disease affects those involved. I will look to uncover how Huntingtons can disrupt daily life, as well as affect relationships and important life decisions such as having children.

With this in mind I am looking to spend some time with several families affected by Huntington’s. Through such an intimate approach a genuine awareness of the disease can be achieved.

In particular I am looking for people considering being tested - it could be that you have a son or daughter turning eighteen who wants to know, or you could be looking to have children yourself and want to know if they might inherit the disease - although if this isn't you but you have a story to share please still get in touch.

I must stress that at this moment in time I am only gathering information and that by responding in no way means you will definitely be involved in any filming. It is also important to consider the impact that taking part could have on family members, be it positive or negative. It is recommended that you discuss your involvement with your entire family.

If this is something you might like to get involved with, then please don't hesitate to get in touch. This could be your opportunity to tell your story.

The subsequent responses are being used for research purposes only. Any subject matter you chose to disclose will be treated with the strictest of confidence.

Kind regards
