All Party Parliamentary Group on Huntington's Disease - launch review
July 2010
WOW, what an exciting day for the HD community. Over 500 families turned up to show their support, it was an amazing sight to see this sea of green people laughing and smiling, enjoying being part of showing the world that HD is HIDDEN NO MORE!
Families arrived to be given a T shirt, wrist band, badge and balloon. We then strolled in glorious sunshine, past Westminster Abbey to congregate on the King George V memorial statue. Here we had a big photo shoot - with the eyes of the worlds press upon us, all held their balloon across their face, to release it at the count of three to expose their faces. It was just an amazing experience.

We then had a party in the park, with some brief speeches from a variety of inspirational people including Charles Sabine, Sarah Winckless, and Nancy Wexler, and later on Tony Hadley. The sun shone, the company was amazing, and the strength of the HD sprit was awesome.
The day finished with a launch of the parliamentary APPG, a gathering of MPs and invited guests.
Many, many thanks to all in the HD community near and far who took part.
