The Unspeakable - a new play about HD at the Tristan Bates Theatre, Covent Garden

January 2009

Darien Productions in association with English Touring Theatre present 'The Unspeakable' by Dominic Leggett at the Tristan Bates Theatre, Covent Garden, from 27th January to 14th February, Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm.

Antonia and her father, Edward, have not been in contact for 20 years, and as far as Lydia, Antonia's daughter, is concerned, the mysterious composer who was her grandfather is long dead. So when Lydia, preparing for a solo violin concert that's crucial to her career, finds out to her shock that he is still alive, she confronts her mother and demands to know the truth. Then she discovers that the real secret Antonia has been hiding is darker than she could ever have imagined ...

Starring Suzanna Hamilton (1984, Polanski's Tess, Wetherby. Out of Africa), Jack Klaff (Copenhagen, School of Night, Star Wars,) Daniel Millar (National Theatre's Midsummer Night's Dream) and Jess Murphy (Kneehigh's Brief Encounter, John Doyle's Amadeus), directed by Phil Ormrod, and featuring new music by award-winning young composer Jieun Park, this compelling new play is a powerful exploration of the lies that keep families together, and those that force them apart; and a provocative enquiry into security of our identities. Can we ever escape responsibility for our actions? And just how quickly can we become somebody else?

Tickets £12, £10 concessions.

Two for one on full price tickets for Tuesday 27th, Thursday 29th and Friday 30th January. Limited availability. Book now!
